On 10th October, Enrique Díaz de Liaño, Managing Director of Celer Soluciones, received special mention in the small business category from Esperanza Aguirre, President of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, at the 4th awards ceremony of the Madrid Flexible Business Awards in recognition of its efforts towards helping employees strike a balance between their work and home life.
The Madrid Flexible Business Awards, awarded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid, serve to encourage all companies in Madrid to roll out family friendly policies which further the professional development of workers while being compatible with their personal lives.
Eight hundred companies from the Autonomous Community of Madrid competed in three categories at this year’s awards ceremony: large, medium and small businesses. All eight hundred have one strategy in common: to retain talent and build staff loyalty. Enrique Díaz de Liaño, “In the world of work today technology is within the reach of any business. You simply need the money to buy it. So what really sets some businesses apart from others is their human capital. This has to be the best. This means a business has to do everything it can not just to get the talent it needs, but to retain it by building loyalty in each and every person who works for it. This is the real challenge for those in business in the 21st century”.
Hence the Comprehensive Work/Home Balance Plan at Celer Soluciones, which includes measures such as organisational flexibility (hours of work, holiday, reduced working hours), fringe benefits (luncheon vouchers, travel pass, physiotherapy allowance, private healthcare, amongst others) and training grants for employees.
